Professor Josep M. Duart
Josep M. Duart holds a doctorate in Pedagogy from Ramon Llull University (URL), Barcelona, and a Master in Business Administration from ESADE Business School, Barcelona.  Since 1996 is full professor in Psychology and Educational Sciences Department at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). He has been involved in several positions: vice president for Postgraduate Studies and Lifelong Learning, and former director of the International Graduate Institute at the Open University of Catalonia, UOC (2007-2013), and Director of the UNESCO Chair in e-Learning (2002-2009). Currently, he teaches on education and technology field, feedback and learning analytics and is member of the LAIKA (Learning Analytics for Innovation and Knowledge Application in Higher Education) Group.

As a researcher specialising in Educational Technology, e-learning models and educational organisation, he leads and collaborates on research projects in areas such as educational policy, higher education leadership and ICT use. He has published several books and a range of co-authored articles in specialist journals. He has also given lectures on ICTs in higher education at international conferences and European, American and Australian universities. He is the Editor-in-chief of the RUSC. Universities and Knowledge Society Journal, rusc.uoc.edu. This journal is co-edited by UOC and University of New England, Australia.

  

​Professor Manuel Castro
Manuel Castro, Electrical and Computer Engineering educator in the Spanish University for Distance Education (UNED) has a doctoral industrial engineering degree from the ETSII/UPM. Professor of Electronics Technology inside the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. He is Head of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UNED). Is co-chair of the conference FIE 2014 (Frontiers in Education Conference) organized in Madrid, Spain, by the IEEE and the ASEE. He is Fellow member of IEEE (for contributions to distance learning in electrical and computer engineering education) and member of the Borad of Governors (BoG) (2005ñ2012) of the IEEE Education Society and Jr Past-President (2015-2016) of the IEEE Education Society; Founder and Past-Chairman (2004-2006) of the Spanish Chapter of the IEEE Education Society, and Past-Chair of the IEEE Spain Section (2010-2011). He has been awarded with the 2012 TAEE (Technologies Applied to Electronic Education) Professional Career Award, IEEE EDUCON 2011 Meritorious Service Award (jointly with Edmundo Tovar) of the EDUCON 2011 conference; 2010 Distinguished Member Award of the IEEE Education Society; 2009 Edwin C. Jones, Jr. Meritorious Service Award of the IEEE Education Society; with the 2006 Distinguished Chapter Leadership Award and for the collective work inside the Spanish Chapter of the IEEE Education Society with the 2011 Best Chapter Award (by the IEEE Region 8) and with the 2007 Chapter Achievement Award (by the IEEE Education Society). He is Member of the Board of the Spanish International Solar Energy Society (ISES).

  

Professor Allison Littlejohn
Allison Littlejohn is Academic Director for Learning and Teaching at The Open University, UK. She is also Chair of Learning Technology, researching technology enhanced professional learning. Over the past decade Professor Littlejohn has held Professorships at three Universities: the Open University, Glasgow Caledonian University and Dundee University and academic positions at the universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow (UK). She has been Principal Investigator or Senior Scientist on over 40 research projects in professional and technology-enhanced learning. She has published almost 200 academic articles, including four books. Professor Littlejohn’s research has been funded by the European Commission (EC), the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), the UK Joint Information Systems Committees (JISC), the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA), the Energy Institute (EI), Shell International & British Petroleum (BP). Her industry-academic research is with multinational companies, most notably Royal Dutch Shell, for whom she was Senior Researcher 2008-2010. Allison is a Fellow and former Scholar of the Higher Education Academy and has received international fellowships from ASCILITE (Australasia), and the Churchill Trust (UK). Professor Littlejohn was formally founding Director of the Caledonian Academy, a centre for research and development in technology enhanced learning at Glasgow Caledonian University UK 2006-2014.

  
​Professor Mark Brown
Mark Brown is Director of the National Institute for Digital Learning (NIDL) at Dublin City University (DCU). Over the last decade Mark has played key leadership roles in the implementation of several major university-wide digital learning and teaching initiatives. Professor Brown has published extensively in his areas of expertise and serves on several international journal editorial boards in the fields of Online, Blended and Digital Learning. Mark is centrally involved in several European funded online learning initiatives, including two major projects exploring the role of MOOCs. He currently chairs the Teaching and Learning Steering Committee for the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) and before taking up his current position was President of the New Zealand Association for Open, Flexible and Distance Learning (DEANZ). Mark is a recipient of a National Award for Sustained Excellence in University Teaching. 
 
  

​Professor Sabina Jeschke
Sabina Jeschke is head of the institute cluster IMA/ZLW & IfU at the RWTH Aachen University since 2009. She studied Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics at the Berlin University of Technology. After research stays at the NASA Ames Research Center/ California and the Georgia Institute of Technology/Atlanta, she gained a doctorate on “Mathematics in Virtual Knowledge Environments” in 2004. Following a junior professorship (2005-2007) at the TU Berlin with the construction and direction of its media center, she was head of the Institute of Information Technology Services (IITS) for electrical engineering at the University of Stuttgart from May 2007 to May 2009, where she was also the director of the Central Information Technology Services (RUS) at the same time. Her research areas are inter alia distributed artificial intelligence, robotics and automation, traffic & mobility, virtual worlds and innovation & future research. Sabina Jeschke is vice dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the RWTH Aachen University, chairwoman of the board of management of the VDI Aachen and member of the supervisory board of the Körber AG. She is a member and consultant of numerous committees and commissions, alumni of the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes), IEEE Senior and Fellow of the RWTH Aachen University. In July 2014, the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) honoured her with their award Deutschlands digitale Köpfe (Germany's digital heads).

  

​Professor Isam Ayoubi
Isam Ayoubi is presently CEO of The Thinking Company, a research and consultancy firm based in Amman-Jordan, and founder and managing partner of Golden Section Productions, a film and media Production Company, that focuses on documentaries and children/family films. Prior to these positions Dr. Ayoubi was executive producer for the Pink Panther and Pals animated series (78 episodes), produced jointly between MGM and Rubicon, where Dr. Ayoubi was serving as vice president.Dr. Ayoubi also spent several years in education. Among the major accomplishments in this field, Dr. Ayoubi was chief architect and developer of the eMath and eScience, comprehensive k-12 blended learning e-education programs, together with its teacher training, that were successfully implemented throughout Jordan, with prototypes and partial implementations in Algeria, Morocco and Oman. Dr. Ayoubi still holds excellent relations with several ministries of education in the region, and consults on various issues ranging from k-12 education to vocational and technical training to university-based education. Dr. Ayoubi was vice president, chief business development officer and chief technology officer at Rubicon from 1999 to early 2010. Prior to that Dr. Ayoubi held a variety of teaching and research positions at several universities, most notably the American University at Sharjah, the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in Dhahran, and Texas A&M University. Dr. Ayoubi served on several committees and taskforces, including the W3C MathML 2 committee (as an invited expert), and Princess Sumaya University of Technology as a member of its board of trustees. Dr. Ayoubi has a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Texas Tech University (1989), an M.S. in Mathematics and B.Sc. in Physics. He lives in Amman-Jordan. He is married and has one son. 

  

​Michael Gaebel
The European University Association (EUA) represents 33 national university associations (rectors’ conferences) and more than 800 universities from all over Europe. When Michael first joined EUA in 2006, he was in charge of developing EUA’s international strategy and global exchange and cooperation. Currently, he is the Director of the Higher Education Policy Unit at the European University Association (EUA). The Unit focuses on issues related to higher education reforms in the area of learning and teaching, including the Bologna Process, lifelong learning, internationalisation and global dialogue. For the last 3-4 years, (EUA) has been monitoring the take up of e-learning and MOOCs at European universities, and the impact that this has rendered. Results have been published in a survey report on e-learning at European universities and also in two occasional papers on Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). In addition, the recent EUA TRENDS Report 2015 asked some questions on the issues.

  
​Professor Mohammad Al-Majali
Mohammad Al-Majali has a Ph.D. and M.Ed. in Computer Education and Multimedia Systems from Ohio University, USA and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Mutah University, Jordan.He is currently the chairman of the Board of Trustee of Al-Quds College and a member of the Al-Balqa Applied University Board of Trustee.Professor Al-Majali was Dean of Al-Quds College, General Manager of Queen Rania Al Abdullah Center for Technology in Education in the years of 2007-2012, a consultant for e-leaning in the Ministry of Education in the years 2004-2007; and served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of UNRWA Wadi Seer Training College. He also served as the Director of Developing the Faculty Members' Performance at Mutah University in the years 2004-2007 as well as the Head of the Curricula and Instruction Department in the year 2003-2004; and the assistant of the Dean of Practical Education Affairs in the Faculty of Educational Sciences in the year 2002-2003.Professor Al-Majali is also a member of several educational university boards and an active member in the national and international conferences. He currently heads many technical and consultative technology in education committees in the Ministry of Education. He has many published educational researches in well-known journals.
