After graduation in 1972, I started my work as an employee with the Ministry of National Economy (which becomes now the Ministry of Industry and Trade). Three years later I joined the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) Jordan as an economic researcher. In 1978 up to 1980 I promoted to became the Head of the Data Bank at RSS. 1980 RSS nominated me to the European Delegation in Amman to get a Master degree in England and I got this scholarship. I attended Keel University in England and in 1982 got my M Sc. in the field of International Economics. In 1983 I promoted to become the head of the Occupied Territories Economy Department. I accomplished many applied researches for the Jordanian and the West Bank Economies. In 1988 I got, through the European Delegations, a PhD scholarship. The emphasis of my PhD Thesis was on the role of macroeconomic policies on development and industrialization. I graduated in 1991, and back to RSS and assumed my job as a head of the Industrial Studies Department where emphasis was on conducting feasibility studies and economic consultations. In 1997 I joined PSUT as an assistant professor to teach principles of economics, Science, Technology and Growth, and technical writing. Recently my concern is focused on technology and innovation as well as with macroeconomic issues. Since I started my teaching with PSUT in 1997, four courses were my focus, these are; Principles of economics, science technology and growth, money& Banking, and Technical writing. My concern with the latter course derived from my previous experience with the RSS where I accomplished about 30 applied researches some of them with international research agencies like IDRC of Canada. My teaching philosophy is to let my students aware of the state-of-the-arts in all the courses I teach. I urge my students to participate in class discussions, home works essays, and not to depend on one reference in any course. I also avoid multiple choices exams. I believe in essay questions to push my students to argue and discuss issues and that I believe will enhance their communication skills. Up to 1997 I accomplish three big projects. The first one was supported by the IDRC of Canada, and the other was the feasibility of transferring Aqaba into free economic zone. The latter was a study requested by the Jordanian government at that time. The third one was also requested by the Ministry of planning and UNDP on the evaluation of the NGO’s in Jordan. In addition to this one research was accomplished as a request by the Jordanian government. This was the study of the cost of bread in Jordan. At that time the government was about to raise the price of bread and public unrest was spread in some parts of Jordan. The government decides to conduct a study on the cost of bread in Jordan. Three study researches were accomplished to help the government to take decision these are: 1. The feasibility of transferring Aqaba into economic free zone 2. The evaluation of the NGOS. In Jordan. 3. The cost of the bread.in Jordan 4. The financial situation in the West Bank and Gaza. Strip On the conference side, two participations were highly successful. : 1. Science $ technology in the Islamic world conference- Islam Abad / Pakistan /2006 2. Environment and health/Cairo 1995.
